Through a combination of private equity, public financing and state tax credits, THE EDGE Filmworks shall work to secure production equity on a film-by-film basis. THE EDGE Filmworks has already developed in-house a number of highly marketable film projects in the form of completed screenplays and continues to work via pre-production avenues toward the successful acquisition of the full production equity necessary to initiate principal photography in the appropriate locations within Florida or Louisiana.

Principals within THE EDGE Filmworks have long-standing relationships with key personnel who have developed and produced many motion pictures filmed
in these states and elsewhere.

THE EDGE Filmworks intends on developing feature length theatrical motion pictures in the budgetary bracket that historically has shown the greatest "Return On Investment" ~ those with budgets of one million to ten million in total. Further, the vast majority of approved projects will likely fall in the one million to five million dollar range.

Theatrical films like Rocky, Pulp Fiction, Nightmare on Elm Street, Sex, Lies and Videotape, Cease Fire, Friday the 13th, Porky’s and Halloween are all examples of highly successful motion pictures that were initiated with budgets of $5 million or under. Many other success stories like The Usual Suspects would fall in the slightly broader
budgetary category of up to ten million.

Principals of THE EDGE Filmworks assisted in raising money for Cease Fire with Don Johnson. And as an example, that production’s distribution channel returned sales numbers in excess of 10 times more than the film’s original "negative cost".

Such sales return percentages are never fully assured despite all potential planning, safeguards or other protective measures. However, the key formula does hinge on three key elements: the quality and marketability of the initial film concept and script, the experience and background of the production personnel and external factors like financing/funding and budgetary impacts related to location, tax incentives, etc.

Its LOGLINE: Two male underlings suffer Delusions of Grandeur and plot to steal from their “new world” crime boss but get literally lost while others succeed. While eluding a grunge hit man and his girlfriend who mistakenly pursue them, they expose us to the bizarre underworld of eccentric characters that they call their own. It is a film noir comedy of errors ~ a Downward Spiral of action, angst, romance and intrigue.

AMERICAN EMPIRE (aka The Downward Spiral and Chaos, Incorporated), set in Ybor City (Tampa) is a story about a “new world” crime family… young and aggressive, but with their fingers on everything. It showcases grunge hit men and otherworldly alternative/progressive nightclubs. It juxtaposes the preppy with the gothic… techno culture with the world of political power. It is action-packed and with its odd assortment of players, it also can be characterized as a “film noir” black comedy. Most reviewers have drawn parallels to Pulp Fiction or The Usual Suspects.

Each of these film projects were designed to be developed and produced within the defined parameters of low-budget productions as outlined above. Each is designed to recover its negative costs quickly through predictable distribution pathways and thus also designed to protect the initial production investment while still offering the upside potential open to such projects if properly marketed to the correct "viewer target"
both domestically and internationally.
